King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
ब्रह्मणो ब्राह्मणानां च तथानुग्रहकाड्क्षया । विव्यास वेदान् यस्मात् स तस्माद् व्यास इति स्मृत:
brahmaṇo brāhmaṇānāṁ ca tathānugrahakāṅkṣayā | vivyāsa vedān yasmāt sa tasmād vyāsa iti smṛtaḥ ||
ব্রহ্মা ও ব্রাহ্মণদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ প্রদর্শনের আকাঙ্ক্ষায় তিনি বেদসমূহকে বিস্তার ও বিভাগ করলেন। তাই তিনি ‘ব্যাস’ নামে স্মৃত হলেন।
