बालो<पि यौवन प्राप्तो मानुषेषु विशाम्पते । सवस्त्रिषु परं वीर: प्रकर्षमगमद् बली,राजन्! अवस्थामें बालक होनेपर भी वह मनुष्योंमें युवक-सा प्रतीत होता था। उस बलवान वीरने सम्पूर्ण अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंमें बड़ी निपुणता प्राप्त की थी
bālo ’pi yauvana-prāpto mānuṣeṣu viśāmpate | sarvāstreṣu paraṃ vīraḥ prakarṣam agamad balī rājān ||
বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন—হে প্রজাপতি! বালক হয়েও সে মানুষের মধ্যে যেন যৌবনপ্রাপ্ত যুবকের মতোই দেখাত। সেই বলবান বীর সকল অস্ত্রশস্ত্র ও যুদ্ধবিদ্যায় শ্রেষ্ঠ উৎকর্ষ লাভ করেছিল।
