विकारं न हाृजनयत् सुतीक्षणमपि तद् विषम् । भीमसंहनने भीमे अजीर्यत वृकोदरे,यद्यपि वह विष बड़ा तेज था, तो भी उनके लिये कोई बिगाड़ न कर सका। भयंकर शरीरवाले भीमसेनके उदरमें वृक नामकी अग्नि थी; अतः वहाँ जाकर वह विष पच गया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vikāraṃ na hājanayat sutīkṣṇam api tad viṣam |
bhīmasaṃhanane bhīme ajīryata vṛkodare ||
বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন—অত্যন্ত তীক্ষ্ণ ও প্রবল সেই বিষও ভীমের কোনো বিকার ঘটাতে পারল না। ভয়ংকর দেহধারী, মহাবল বৃকোদরের উদরের অন্তর্নিহিত অগ্নিতে তা হজম হয়ে গেল; ফলে কৃত অনিষ্টের অভিপ্রায় ব্যর্থ হল।
