Kāraṇa-vyākhyā: Cosmic Agents, Rudra-Forms, Sense-Purity, and Ānanda-Tāratamya
एतद्विस्तार्य मेब्रूहि पौत्राय तव सुव्रत / इत्युक्तस्तेन स हरिरुवाच करुणानिधिः
etadvistārya mebrūhi pautrāya tava suvrata / ityuktastena sa hariruvāca karuṇānidhiḥ
“হে সুব্রত! তোমার পৌত্রের কল্যাণার্থে এ কথা আমাকে বিস্তারে বলো।” এভাবে অনুরোধিত হয়ে করুণানিধি হরি কথা বলতে আরম্ভ করলেন।

Concept: Transmission of sacred knowledge through guru–śiṣya (or devotee–Lord) dialogue for the welfare of descendants.
Vedantic Theme: Īśvara as karuṇā-nidhi who reveals dharma/jñāna for loka-saṅgraha; śravaṇa as the doorway to realization.
Application: Approach qualified sources with humility; request clarity and detail; preserve teachings for family/lineage benefit.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
Related Themes: Garuda Purana: recurring ‘Śrī Kṛṣṇa/Hari uvāca’ discourse frames in Pretakalpa and Dharma-kāṇḍa sections
This verse highlights the Purana’s teaching method: complex dharmic and spiritual topics should be explained “vistārya” (in detail) so the teaching can be preserved and transmitted accurately across generations.
It marks a transition into Vishnu’s compassionate instruction: after being requested to elaborate, Hari begins the next portion of teaching, reinforcing the Purana’s guru–disciple narrative flow.
Seek clarity rather than fragments—ask for full context in spiritual practice and ethics, and pass on well-understood teachings responsibly to the next generation.
