Portents at the Birth of Diti’s Sons and Hiraṇyākṣa Challenges Varuṇa

दितिस्तु भर्तुरादेशादपत्यपरिशङ्किनी । पूर्णे वर्षशते साध्वी पुत्रौ प्रसुषुवे यमौ ॥ २ ॥

সতী দিতি স্বামীর আদেশ ও ভবিষ্যদ্বাণীর কারণে গর্ভস্থ সন্তানদের দ্বারা দেবতাদের বিপদ হবে—এই আশঙ্কায় অত্যন্ত উদ্বিগ্ন ছিলেন। পূর্ণ একশো বছর গর্ভধারণের পর তিনি যমজ দুই পুত্র প্রসব করলেন।
