Sukta 4
प्राण मा मत् पर्यावृतो न मदन्यो भविष्यसि । अपां गर्भमिव जीवसे प्राण बध्नामि त्वा मयि
prā́ṇa mā́ mat pár yā́vṛtaḥ ná madanyó bhaviṣyasi | apā́m gárbham iva jīváse prā́ṇa badhnā́mi tvā mayí
O Prāṇa, turn not away from me; become not other than mine. As the embryo of the waters, for life, O Prāṇa, I bind thee fast within me.
হে প্রাণ, আমার থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিও না; আমার ছাড়া অন্য হয়ে যেয়ো না। যেমন জলের গর্ভ (অঙ্কুর/ভ্রূণ) জীবনের জন্য রক্ষিত থাকে, তেমনি হে প্রাণ, আমি তোমাকে আমার মধ্যে, আমার ভিতরে, দৃঢ়ভাবে বেঁধে রাখি।
