It declares Rudra-Maheśa as the sole, secondless Reality and models the highest spiritual response—śaraṇāgati (complete refuge)—as the doorway to liberation.
Though it proclaims the One beyond multiplicity, the Shiva Purana upholds approaching that One through Saguna forms—especially the Śiva-liṅga—where devotion and surrender mature into direct realization of Maheśa as the supreme Pati (Lord).
Meditate on “Eko Rudraḥ” (Rudra is One) with a mood of surrender, supporting it with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and liṅga-upāsanā as the practical means of fixing the mind in Maheśa.
