Rāvaṇa’s Austerity and Śiva’s Bestowal of Grace
bhūmau liṃgaṃ yadā tvaṃ ca sthāpayiṣyasi tatra vai | sthāsyatyatra na saṃdeho yathecchasi tathā kuru
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Śiva assures that once the Liṅga is स्थापित (installed) with devotion, His grace becomes steadily accessible there; the verse highlights the reliability of Śiva’s presence for the devotee, supporting steadfast bhakti and inner anchoring in Pati (the Lord).
The Liṅga is the worshipful form through which the devotee approaches Saguna Śiva; the verse emphasizes that proper स्थापना (pratiṣṭhā) makes the sacred spot a stable locus for pūjā, darśana, and anugraha (divine favor).
It points to Liṅga-pratiṣṭhā and regular Liṅga-pūjā—ideally with pañcākṣarī japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and traditional aids like vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa to sustain daily remembrance and discipline.
