The Slaying of Tāṭakā
विश्वामित्रस्तु ब्रह्मर्षिर्हुङ्कारेणाभिभर्त्स्यताम्।स्वस्ति राघवयोरस्तु जयं चैवाभ्यभाषत।।1.26.14।।
viśvāmitras tu brahmarṣir huṅkāreṇābhibhartsyatām | svasti rāghavayor astu jayaṃ caivābhyabhāṣata ||1.26.14||
তেতিয়া ব্ৰহ্মৰ্ষি বিশ্বামিত্ৰে ভয়ংকৰ হুঁকাৰৰে তাইক ভৰ্ত্সনা কৰি ক’লে—“দুয়ো ৰাঘৱৰ স্বস্তি আৰু জয় হওক।”
Brahmarshi Viswamitra threatened her with hunkara (menacing sound), uttering, "Auspices to the Raghavas (Rama and Lakshmana) be aupicousness and success!" victorious.
Dharma here is the righteous protection of the innocent and of sacred rites; the sage strengthens the protectors with a blessing and confronts adharma without hesitation.
As Tāṭakā attacks, Viśvāmitra intimidates her and simultaneously invokes auspiciousness and victory for Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
