Unspecified elder (addressing 'putra' within the Adhyaya’s narrative)

It highlights that affection and blessing must be guided by dharma: even a promise to a loved one is affirmed only when it is “dharma-saṃyutam” (aligned with righteousness).
Though not explicitly naming bhakti, it models a core devotional ethic—keeping one’s word in a dharma-aligned way—since integrity and righteous intention are foundational supports for any worship, vrata, or tirtha-observance.
The verse reflects dharmic application rather than a specific Vedanga; practically, it underscores disciplined speech and commitment (vacanam → kariṣye), a key habit for correct ritual observance and vrata-following in Narada Purana rituals.
