Educational Q&A

Responsible leadership protects dependents and minimizes avoidable risk. Yudhiṣṭhira’s instruction reflects dharma as practical care—ensuring the safety and propriety of Draupadī’s household while the Pāṇḍavas prepare for a concealed life.

As the Pāṇḍavas are about to enter the period of living incognito, Yudhiṣṭhira orders Draupadī’s female attendants—along with the cooks and kitchen officials—to return to Pāñcāla, reducing the entourage and the chance of exposure.
