Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 23: Report of the Slain Sūtaputras, Royal Orders, and Sairandhrī’s Return
भीमसेन उवाच अहं शृणोमि ते वाचं त्वया सैरन्ध्रि भाषिताम् । तस्मात् ते सूतपुत्रेभ्यो भयं भीरु न विद्यते
bhīmasena uvāca | ahaṃ śṛṇomi te vācaṃ tvayā sairandhri bhāṣitām | tasmāt te sūtaputrebhyo bhayaṃ bhīru na vidyate ||
ভীমসেনে ক’লে—হে সাইৰন্ধ্ৰী! তুমি যি কথা কৈছা, সেই বাক্য মই শুনিছোঁ। সেয়ে, হে ভীৰু, সেই সূতপুত্ৰসকলৰ পৰা এতিয়া তোমাৰ কোনো ভয় নাই।
भीमसेन उवाच
Listening to the oppressed and offering protection is a dharmic response; fear is dispelled when a capable guardian commits to uphold justice against wrongdoing.
Draupadī, disguised as Sairandhrī in Virāṭa’s court, has spoken of her distress; Bhīma hears her and promises that she need not fear the sūta-born aggressors (associated with Kīcaka and his circle).
