घुलस्त्य उवाच
Ritual action performed in the right way at a sanctified place—here, bathing at a specific tīrtha—can yield great spiritual merit, comparable to major acts of charity such as donating a thousand cows.
A speaker named Ghūlastya is describing the greatness of particular pilgrimage sites, stating that bathing according to prescribed rites at the Śālihotra tīrtha called Śālisūrya grants immense merit.
