The verse underscores a dharmic boundary: violating an unwilling woman is a grave adharma that invites inevitable, catastrophic consequence. It frames coercion as morally and cosmically punishable.
Varuṇa recalls an earlier curse placed upon Rāvaṇa: if he ever forces himself upon an unwilling woman—any woman other than one who consents—his head will split into a hundred pieces. The statement functions as a remembered constraint and warning within the story.
