Sūrya’s Counsel to Karṇa on Indra’s Intended Request
Kuṇḍala–Kavaca Discourse
सम्पातिर्नाम तस्याहं ज्येष्ठो भ्राता खगाधिप: । अन्योन्यस्पर्धयारूढावावामादित्यसत्पदम्,“वह पक्षी हमें खा जानेकी युक्ति सोचने लगा। फिर हमारे पास आकर बोला--“अजी! कौन मेरे भाई जटायुकी बात कर रहा था। मैं उसका बड़ा भाई पक्षिराज सम्पाति हूँ। हम दोनों एक-दूसरेसे होड़ लगाकर आकाशमें सूर्यमण्डलतक पहुँचनेके लिये उड़े थे
Sampātir nāma tasyāhaṁ jyeṣṭho bhrātā khagādhipaḥ | anyonya-spardhayārūḍhāv āvām āditya-satpadam ||
সি ক’লে—“মই সম্পাতি নামে পৰিচিত, সেই খগাধিপতিৰ জ্যেষ্ঠ ভ্ৰাতা। আমি দুয়ো পৰস্পৰৰ স্পৰ্ধাত উঠি সূৰ্যৰ দীপ্ত স্থানলৈ পৌঁছাবলৈ উৰি গৈছিলোঁ।”
