Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the value of receiving disciplined instruction (anuśāsana) and then living it through practice—here, by undertaking a reverent journey through tīrthas and tapovanas, places associated with purification, restraint, and dharmic renewal.

After being advised by a royal sage, the Pāṇḍavas continue their journey, visiting and observing holy pilgrimage sites, ascetic forests, and great lakes—moving onward as exemplary travelers shaped by counsel and devotion.
