तमसा संवृते लोके घोरेण परुषेण च । हरयो विमुखाश्चासन् प्रास्खलच्चापि मातलि:,घोर एवं दुःसह तिमिरराशिसे सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके आच्छादित हो जानेपर मेरे रथके घोड़े युद्धसे विमुख हो गये और मातलि भी लड़खड़ाने लगे
arjuna uvāca | tamasā saṁvṛte loke ghoreṇa paruṣeṇa ca | harayo vimukhāś cāsan prāskhalac cāpi mātaliḥ ||
ঘোৰ আৰু কঠোৰ অন্ধকাৰে যেতিয়া সমগ্ৰ জগত আচ্ছন্ন কৰিলে, তেতিয়া মোৰ ৰথৰ ঘোঁৰাবোৰ যুদ্ধৰ পৰা মুখ ঘুৰালে, আৰু মাতলিও টলমল কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে।
अजुन उवाच
Extreme external conditions—symbolized by oppressive darkness—can unsettle even capable agents; dharmic steadiness requires maintaining clarity and resolve when fear and confusion arise.
Arjuna describes a moment when a dreadful darkness covers everything; his chariot-horses lose their fighting spirit and turn away, and Mātali, the charioteer, falters—showing the intensity of the situation.
