Educational Q&A

This line functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it teaches how the epic self-organizes—by clearly marking the end of a chapter and identifying its subject (Kubera’s words) and its placement within the larger narrative structure (Vana Parva → Yakṣa-yuddha section).

The narrator (Vaiśampāyana) signals that the chapter has concluded. It indicates that the preceding content belonged to the Yakṣa-yuddha episode within the Forest Book and that the chapter’s focus was Kubera’s speech.
