वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the value of śravaṇa (attentive listening) and the practical importance of following competent, dharmic guidance: hearing a meaningful account brings clarity and encouragement, and a sage’s direction helps one proceed rightly and efficiently.
After hearing the preceding story, the Pāṇḍavas become pleased and energized; they then move forward quickly on the route pointed out by the sage Lomaśa, as Vaiśampāyana narrates this to King Janamejaya.
