यतो नारोचयदयं विग्रहं तैर्महात्मभि: । पुत्रोंसहित धर्मज्ञ एवं यशस्वी महात्मा पाण्डव कितने बलशाली हैं, इस बातको भीष्मजी अच्छी तरह जानते हैं। इसीलिये उन्हें उन महात्माओंके साथ युद्ध छेड़नेकी बात पसंद नहीं आयी
yato nārocayad ayaṁ vigrahaṁ tair mahātmabhiḥ |
দুৰ্যোধনে ক’লে—সেই মহাত্মাসকলৰ সৈতে বৈৰ আৰম্ভ কৰাটো ভীষ্মৰ মনঃপূত নহ’ল; ধৰ্মজ্ঞ আৰু যশস্বী পাণ্ডৱ পুত্ৰসমেত কিমান শক্তিশালী, সেয়া তেওঁ ভালদৰে জানে; সেয়ে তেনে মহৎ প্ৰতিপক্ষৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ আৰম্ভ কৰাটো তেওঁক ভাল নালাগিল।
