The verse highlights atithi-dharma: an honored guest—especially a brahmin—should be received with respect through traditional offerings (rising to greet, giving a seat, pādya, and arghya). Ethical conduct is shown through courteous, timely hospitality.
Sudhanvā arrives to meet Keśinī (identified as Prāhrmada’s daughter/descendant). Keśinī recognizes the arriving brahmin and performs the formal reception rites by standing up and offering him a seat, water for washing his feet, and arghya.
