Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 3 — Sātyaki on Inner Disposition, Legitimacy, and Coercive Readiness
anunītā hi bhīṣmeṇa droṇena vidureṇa ca
When a crisis approaches, the counsel of elders and the wise—grounded in dharma and restraint—should be heeded; repeated ethical persuasion signals the seriousness of the moral choice before the listener.
Vaiśampāyana notes that a key figure (referred to here as 'she' by the feminine form anunītā) has already been urged and advised by leading authorities in the Kuru court—Bhīṣma, Droṇa, and Vidura—indicating sustained attempts to guide her toward a proper course amid rising tensions.
