Udyoga Parva 142: Vidura’s warning to Kuntī and Kuntī’s resolve to meet Karṇa
Gaṅgātīra encounter begins

A ruler’s moral collapse shows itself first in hostility toward the wise and the venerable (brāhmaṇas and gurus) and then in betrayal of loyal dependents; such ingratitude and contempt for dharmic counsel are presented as omens of inevitable downfall.
Sañjaya addresses Kṛṣṇa (as Madhusūdana) and characterizes Duryodhana’s behavior: he has begun to hate those who should be honored and to turn against his own faithful servants—an observation offered as a diagnostic sign that Duryodhana is moving toward defeat in the coming conflict.
