Educational Q&A

Do not be swept into a destructive war by instigators who will not bear its consequences; restrain violence against one’s own people and recognize the practical and moral weight of fighting against a side supported by Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, deemed invincible.

In the Udyoga Parva’s war-preparation context, Vaiśampāyana reports counsel warning a leader not to authorize mass killing of subjects and kin, and to understand that those aligned with Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna are effectively unbeatable—making escalation both ethically ruinous and strategically unsound.
