अध्यायानां सहस्नरेण काव्य: संक्षेपमब्रवीत् । तच्छास्त्रममितप्रज्ञो योगाचार्यो महायशा:
adhyāyānāṁ sahasreṇa kāvyaḥ saṁkṣepam abravīt | tacchāstram amitaprajño yogācāryo mahāyaśā ||
ভীষ্মে ক’লে—তাৰ পিছত মহাযশস্বী, যোগশাস্ত্ৰৰ আচার্য আৰু অপাৰ প্ৰজ্ঞাসম্পন্ন শুক্ৰাচাৰ্যই সেই শাস্ত্ৰখন সংক্ষিপ্ত কৰি এক হাজাৰ অধ্যায়ত সংকলিত কৰিলে।
भीष्म उवाच
That authoritative knowledge (śāstra), especially Yoga as a disciplined path, is preserved and made practicable through skilled condensation and clear instruction by a qualified teacher; the emphasis is on transmission, accessibility, and fidelity to doctrine.
Bhīṣma, instructing on dharma in the Śānti Parva, cites the famed and wise Śukrācārya as an exemplar of a yogic authority who summarized an extensive teaching into a structured compendium of a thousand chapters.
