वासुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical importance of heeding rightful instruction and undertaking purposeful travel toward a sacred goal—suggesting that dharmic progress often requires disciplined action (restraint/control) and movement to places associated with purification and resolve.
Vāsudeva addresses a king and issues a direct command to a great sage: to proceed to the shore of the southern ocean. It reads as a transitional narrative instruction, setting up the next stage of a journey or rite connected with the sea-shore.
