Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
बभूवान्तर्गतमतिर्निरी क्ष्य पुरुषोत्तमौ । सदोगतास्तत्र ये वै सर्वभूतनमस्कृता:
babhūvāntargatamatir nirīkṣya puruṣottamau | sadogatās tatra ye vai sarvabhūtanamaskṛtāḥ ||
বৈশম্পায়ন ক’লে—সেই দুজন পুৰুষোত্তমক দেখি নাৰদৰ মন অন্তর্মুখী হৈ গভীৰ চিন্তাত নিমগ্ন হ’ল। তাত উপস্থিত সজ্জনসকল সদা কল্যাণত নিবিষ্ট হৈ সকলো জীৱক নমস্কাৰ কৰিছিল।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical ideal: true goodness expresses itself as inward composure and reverence toward all beings. Dharma is shown not merely as ritual or status, but as a cultivated disposition of humility and universal respect.
The narrator describes a moment of encounter with “the two supreme persons,” after which a character becomes inwardly absorbed. The assembled virtuous people present respond with respectful salutations, characterized as honoring all beings.
