The verse teaches the auspicious, remedial power attributed to hearing a sacred discourse: it is said to remove obstacles and confer well-being, including safe childbirth and the flourishing of lineage and prosperity.
Vaiśampāyana concludes a section by stating the promised fruits (phalaśruti) of listening to the preceding teaching—describing relief from pregnancy complications, successful delivery, and the attainment of offspring and prosperity.
