Parāśara’s Instruction

The verse teaches śaraṇāgati (surrender): devotion is not merely verbal praise but the placing of heart, mind, and discernment in the Divine, seeking grace through wholehearted inner alignment.
Bhīṣma addresses the Lord (invoked as Bhava/Śiva) in a direct supplication, asking for favor and declaring total inner dedication—heart, intellect, and mind—signaling a devotional turn within the ethical-discursive setting of the Śānti Parva.
