Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)
ऊचुः प्राउज्जलय: सर्वे कथ्यतां को भवानिति | तब ब्रह्मा आदि देवता तथा प्रजापति दक्ष--ये सब के-सब हाथ जोड़कर बोले --देवदेव! कहिये, आप कौन हैं?” || ५० है ।। वीरभद्र उवाच नाहं रुद्रो न वा देवी नैव भोक्तुमिहागत:
Vīrabhadra uvāca: Nāhaṃ rudro na vā devī naiva bhoktum ihāgataḥ.
তেতিয়া ব্ৰহ্মা আদি দেৱসকল আৰু প্ৰজাপতি দক্ষ—সকলোয়ে অঞ্জলি বঁধি ক’লে, “দেৱদেৱ! কওক, আপুনি কোন?” বীৰভদ্ৰ ক’লে, “মই ন ৰুদ্ৰ, ন দেৱী; আৰু ভোগ বা হৱি গ্ৰহণ কৰিবলৈও মই ইয়ালৈ অহা নাই।”
