अवमानस्तथा मोह: प्रमाद: स्वप्रतन्द्रिता । कथंचिदभिवर्तन्ते विविधास्तामसा गुणा:
avamānas tathā mohaḥ pramādaḥ svapratandritā | kathaṃcid abhivartante vividhās tāmasā guṇāḥ ||
একেদৰে যেতিয়া অপমান, মোহ, প্ৰমাদ, স্বপ্ন-নিদ্ৰাজনিত জড়তা আৰু আলস্য আদি দোষ যিকোনোভাবে ঘিৰি ধৰে, তেতিয়া সেয়া তমোগুণৰ বিভিন্ন ৰূপ বুলিয়েই জানিব লাগে।
भीष्म उवाच
States like humiliation/disrespect, delusion, negligence, and torpor are to be recognized as manifestations of tamas; identifying them helps one resist their pull and protect ethical clarity and disciplined action.
