ये त्वजाग्रन्त कौरव्य तेडपि शब्देन मोहिता: । निरीक्ष्यमाणा अन्योन्यं दृष्टवा दृष्टवा प्रविव्यथु:
ye tv ajāgranta kauravya te 'pi śabdena mohitāḥ | nirīkṣyamāṇā anyonyaṁ dṛṣṭvā dṛṣṭvā pravivyathuḥ kurunandana ||
হে কৌৰৱনন্দন! যিসকল জাগি আছিল, তেওঁলোকো সেই কোলাহলত কিংকর্তব্যবিমূঢ় হৈ পৰিল। পৰস্পৰে একে-আনক চাই থাকোঁতে, অশ্বত্থামাক বাৰে বাৰে দেখি তেওঁলোক ব্যথিত হৈ কঁপি উঠিল।
