The verse condemns allegiance rooted in krodha (anger) and lobha (greed). It implies that protection offered from such motives is adharma, and that complicity in wrongdoing brings severe consequences—symbolized by being sent to Yama’s abode.
Bhīmasena addresses an opponent and issues a fierce warning: not only the principal wrongdoer but also those who trail behind as his ‘protectors’—driven by anger and greed—will be destroyed and sent to the realm of death along with their associates.
