Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how ridicule and cruelty in speech rebound in times of reversal: those who once celebrated another’s humiliation become targets of the same taunt. It cautions that triumph expressed through derision perpetuates hostility and moral decline.

Sanjaya reports a moment of retaliatory celebration: the side speaking now repeats the old insult ‘Ox! Ox!’ and dances, mirroring how the Kauravas once rejoiced in the assembly while mocking them.
