दुःशासनवधः (Duḥśāsana-vadha) — Bhīma’s vow-fulfillment in combat
अन्तरिक्षे शरौघाणां पततां च परस्परम्
antarikṣe śaraughāṇāṃ patatāṃ ca parasparam
আকাশত শৰসমূহৰ ঘন ধাৰা পৰি পৰি পৰস্পৰে আঘাত কৰিছিল।
संजय उवाच
The verse primarily intensifies the epic’s war-vision: when combat becomes so extreme that arrows collide in midair, it underscores the destructive momentum of conflict and the grave consequences of unchecked hostility, even while reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of formidable martial prowess.
Sañjaya describes the battle’s ferocity: volleys of arrows are so thick in the sky that they meet and strike each other while flying, conveying an overwhelming exchange of missiles between the opposing warriors.
