Chapter 45
पश्य कुन्तीसुतं वीर॑ं भीममक्लिष्टकारिणम् । प्रभासन्तं महाबाहुं स्थितं मेरूमिवापरम्
paśya kuntīsutaṃ vīraṃ bhīmam akliṣṭakāriṇam | prabhāsantaṃ mahābāhuṃ sthitaṃ merum ivāparam ||
চোৱা, কুন্তীপুত্ৰ বীৰ ভীমক—কৰ্মত অক্লান্ত, অদম্য। দীপ্তিমান, মহাবাহু, সি যেন আন এটা মেৰু পৰ্বতৰ দৰে অচল হৈ থিয় আছে।
शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights the warrior-ideal of steadfastness and tireless effort: true strength is not only physical power but also unwavering resolve and endurance in righteous duty amid the pressures of battle.
In the Karna Parva battle setting, Shalya draws attention to Bhima’s formidable presence—radiant, strong, and immovable—using Mount Meru as a simile to emphasize Bhima’s stability and intimidating power on the battlefield.
