कर्णेन सैन्यस्थापनं तथा नानायुद्धसमवायः

Karna Reforms the Host and Multiple Duels Converge

ब्राह्मं पज्चाला: कौरवेयास्तु धर्म्य सत्यं मत्स्या: शूरसेनाश्न यज्ञम्‌ । प्राच्या दासा वृषला दाक्षिणात्या: स्तेना वाहीका: संकरा वै सुराष्ट्रा:,पांचाल देशके लोग वेदोक्त धर्मका आश्रय लेते हैं, कुरुदेशके निवासी धर्मानुकूल कार्य करते हैं, मत्स्यदेशके लोग सत्य बोलते और शूरसेननिवासी यज्ञ करते हैं। पूर्वदेशके लोग दासकर्म करनेवाले, दक्षिणके निवासी वृषल, बाहीक देशके लोग चोर और सौराष्ट्र-निवासी वर्णसंकर होते हैं

brāhmaṃ pāñcālāḥ kauraveyās tu dharmyaṃ satyaṃ matsyāḥ śūrasenāś ca yajñam | prācyā dāsā vṛṣalā dākṣiṇātyāḥ stenā vāhīkāḥ saṅkarā vai surāṣṭrāḥ ||

পাঞ্চালসকল ব্রাহ্ম (বৈদিক) আচাৰত প্রতিষ্ঠিত; কৌৰৱসকল ধাৰ্মিক কৰ্মত প্রবৃত্ত; মৎস্যসকল সত্যবাদী, আৰু শূৰসেনসকল যজ্ঞকর্মত ৰত। কিন্তু প্ৰাচ্যসকল দাসকর্মযোগ্য়, দাক্ষিণাত্যসকল ‘বৃষল’, বাহীকসকল চোৰ, আৰু সুৰাষ্ট্ৰবাসীসকল বৰ্ণসংকৰ বুলি কোৱা হৈছে।
