Educational Q&A

When destructive forces (Asuras) threaten order, divine power manifests in an overwhelming form to restore balance; the episode frames destruction not as cruelty but as protection of dharma and the world’s stability.

Bhīṣma describes Mahādeva actively destroying the Asuras; at that moment the combined presence of the three cities (Tripura) suddenly appears before Śiva, setting the stage for their confrontation and downfall.
