Effective action in a righteous cause requires inner steadiness (dṛḍhatā), competence (dakṣatā), and fortitude (dhṛti), supported by timely counsel from a wise guide—here, Kṛṣṇa—so that duty is remembered and performed without wavering.
Sañjaya describes Arjuna’s battle-readiness and character—alert, firm, skilful, and resolute—and notes that Kṛṣṇa, as his charioteer and divine guide, repeatedly prompts and instructs him at critical moments to keep him aligned with his kṣatriya duty.
