धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse links ethical speech and social virtue to well-being: gentleness, sweetness of speech, and words that sustain kinship bonds—together with wisdom and respected conduct—are presented as causes that lead to happiness.
In the midst of the Drona Parva’s war narrative, Dhṛtarāṣṭra reflects on the Pāṇḍavas’ qualities—refined demeanor, pleasing speech, noble standing, and wisdom—and concludes that such virtues make them destined to attain happiness.
