Drona–Dhrishtadyumna Battle Description
निजघ्ने दशसाहस्रान् राम: परशुना तदा । न ह्मृष्यत ता वाचो यास्तैर्भूशमुदीरिता:
nijaghne daśasāhasrān rāmaḥ paraśunā tadā | na hṛṣyata tā vāco yās tair bhūśam udīritāḥ ||
তেতিয়া ৰাম (পৰশুৰাম) পৰশুৰে দহ সহস্ৰক নিধন কৰিলে; কিন্তু তেওঁলোকৰ উচ্চ আৰ্তনাদ-ধ্বনিতো তেওঁ হৰ্ষিত নহ’ল।
नारद उवाच
Even amid extreme violence, the text highlights a distinction between performing a grim task and taking pleasure in others’ suffering; the absence of exultation points to restraint and a hard, duty-bound detachment rather than cruelty for its own sake.
Nārada narrates that Paraśurāma, wielding his axe, kills ten thousand opponents; despite the magnitude of the slaughter and the loud cries of the fallen, he does not rejoice.
