नक्षत्राणामिव शशी दितिजानामिवोशना: । श्रेष्ठ: सेनाप्रणेतृणां स नः सेनापतिर्भव

নক্ষত্ৰসকলৰ মাজত যেনেকৈ শশী (চন্দ্ৰ), আৰু দিতিজসকলৰ মাজত যেনেকৈ উশনা (শুক্ৰাচাৰ্য) শ্ৰেষ্ঠ—তেনেকৈ সেনানায়কসকলৰ মাজত আপুনিই শ্ৰেষ্ঠ। সেয়ে আমাৰ সেনাপতি হওক।
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse highlights how political ambition seeks authority through celebrated figures and flattering comparisons. It implicitly contrasts external qualifications (fame, superiority) with the deeper ethical question of whether the cause itself is dharmic.
Duryodhana is urging an eminent warrior/leader to accept the role of senāpati (commander-in-chief), praising him as preeminent among commanders through cosmic and mythic analogies (moon among stars; Śukra among the Daityas).
