नेयं सभा राजपुत्र नाचार्यस्य निवेशनम्
neyaṃ sabhā rājaputra nācāryasya niveśanam
হে ৰাজপুত্ৰ! এইটো সভা নহয়, আচার্যৰ নিবাসো নহয়।
संजय उवाच
The verse warns against confusing the battlefield with spaces meant for deliberation or instruction. Ethically, it underscores situational awareness: in war, one must not expect the protections, decorum, or guidance associated with a court (sabhā) or a teacher’s residence (ācārya-niveśana).
Sañjaya addresses a prince and corrects his perception of the setting, emphasizing that the present scene is not a peaceful hall of counsel or a preceptor’s abode, but a harsh wartime context where different rules and dangers prevail.
