त॑ भीमसेन: समरे तीक्ष्णाग्रैरक्षेणोच्छरै: । अलायुधस्तु तानस्तान् भीमेन विशिखान् रणे
taṁ bhīmasenaḥ samare tīkṣṇāgrair akṣaṇoccharaiḥ | alāyudhas tu tān astān bhīmena viśikhān raṇe
তেতিয়া সমৰত ভীমসেনে তীক্ষ্ণাগ্ৰ, অতি বেগী শৰৰে তাক আঘাত কৰিলে। কিন্তু আলাযুধে ভীমে নিক্ষেপ কৰা সেই সেই শৰৰ ৰণত সহি, দৃঢ়ভাৱে প্ৰতিহত কৰিলে॥
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya-world ethic of steadfastness under attack: skill and ferocity in combat are met by endurance and resolve, showing how warriors are expected to face danger without wavering even amid destructive violence.
Sañjaya describes a direct exchange in the battle: Bhīma strikes Alāyudha with very swift, sharp-pointed arrows, and Alāyudha withstands or faces those arrows in the midst of the fight.
