त्वत्प्रियार्थ महाराज जयो दैवे प्रतिष्ठित: । “महाराज! आज युद्धस्थलमें आपका प्रिय करनेके लिये मैं सिंधुराजकी रक्षाके निमित्त पूरा प्रयत्न करूँगा। विजय तो दैवके अधीन है
tvatpriyārtha mahārāja jayo daive pratiṣṭhitaḥ |
সঞ্জয়ে ক’লে— “মহারাজ! আপোনাৰ প্ৰিয়াৰ্থে আজি ৰণক্ষেত্ৰত সিন্ধুৰাজৰ ৰক্ষাৰ বাবে মই সম্পূৰ্ণ প্ৰচেষ্টা কৰিম; কিন্তু জয় দেৱাধীন।”
संजय उवाच
One should act with full effort out of duty and loyalty, yet recognize that the final outcome—victory or defeat—ultimately depends on daiva (providence/fate), not merely human will.
In the war narrative of Droṇa Parva, Sañjaya reports a resolve made for the king’s satisfaction: to strive to protect the Sindhu king (Jayadratha), while acknowledging that the result of battle is governed by fate.
