Educational Q&A

Truthful narration of one’s origin and circumstances (yathāvṛttam) is presented as ethically significant: it enables rightful recognition of relationships and duties, especially in a war setting where identity and obligation matter.

A person (contextually Irāvān in the surrounding prose) recounts to Arjuna the details of his mother’s union with Arjuna; upon hearing the accurate account, Arjuna recollects the events exactly as they occurred.
