जयद्रथेन सहिता ग्रीवायां संनिवेशिता: । आर्य! भूरिश्रवा, शल, शल्य और भगदत्त--ये जयद्रथके साथ ग्रीवाभागमें खड़े किये गये। इन्हींके साथ मद्र, सिंधु, सौवीर तथा पंचनद देशके योद्धा भी थे,इति श्रीमहाभारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि तृतीये युद्धदिवसे परस्परव्यूहरचनायां षट्पञ्चाशत्तमो5ध्याय:
jayadrathena sahitā grīvāyāṃ saṃniveśitāḥ | ārya bhūriśravāḥ śalaḥ śalyaś ca bhagadattaś ca—ete jayadrathena saha grīvābhāge sthāpitāḥ | ebhiḥ saha madra-sindhu-sauvīra-pañcanada-deśīyā yodhā api āsan |
সঞ্জয়ে জনালে—আৰ্য! জয়দ্ৰথৰ সৈতে ভূৰিশ্ৰৱা, শল, শল্য আৰু ভগদত্ত—এইসকলক ব্যূহৰ ‘গ্ৰীৱা’ (গল) অংশত স্থাপন কৰা হ’ল। তেওঁলোকৰ সৈতে মদ্ৰ, সিন্ধু, সৌবীৰ আৰু পঞ্চনদ দেশৰ যোদ্ধাসকলেও থিয় হৈ আছিল।
संजय उवाच
Even in war, outcomes are shaped by deliberate organization and by whom one chooses to stand with. The verse implicitly points to ethical accountability in alliances: renowned leaders and regional forces collectively reinforce a critical point, showing how shared intent and alignment carry moral consequence.
Sanjaya describes the Kaurava-side deployment within a battle-array: Jayadratha and several notable warriors are stationed at the ‘neck’ sector, supported by troops from Madra, Sindhu, Sauvīra, and Pañcanada—indicating a fortified, strategically important position.
