नवमेघप्रतीकाशाश्षाक्षिप्य तुरगान् गजा: । पादैरेव विमृद्नन्ति मत्ता: कनकभूषणा:,नूतन मेघोंके समान शोभा पानेवाले स्वर्णभूषित मतवाले हाथी बहुत-से घोड़ोंको सूँड्ोंस झटककर पैरोंसे ही रौंद डालते थे

navameghapratīkāśāḥ kṣipya turagān gajāḥ |
pādair eva vimṛdnanti mattāḥ kanakabhūṣaṇāḥ ||
সঞ্জয়ে ক’লে—নতুন মেঘৰ দৰে দেখুৱা, সোণালী অলংকাৰৰে ভূষিত মত্ত হাতীবোৰে ঘোঁৰাবোৰক ঝাঁকুনি দি আঁতৰলৈ পেলাই, পায়েৰে পিষি পেলাইছিল। সেই দৃশ্যই যুদ্ধৰ অন্ধ, নিৰ্লিপ্ত প্ৰচণ্ড শক্তি দেখুৱাইছিল—য’ত জীৱবোৰ ধ্বংসৰ যন্ত্ৰত পৰিণত হয়।
