The verse highlights kṣatriya resolve and accountability: a 'great deed' in war is not merely prowess but an action with heavy moral consequence, undertaken with steadiness and readiness while facing both sides and the gravity of conflict.
Sañjaya reports that on the tenth day of battle, after accomplishing a major feat, the warrior stands between the opposing armies with bow in hand, prepared for further combat and visible to both sides.
