vavarṣa tatra parjanyo māṃsaśoṇitavṛṣṭimān | dikṣu sarvāṇi sainyāni tad adbhutam ivābhavat ||
সেই সময় তাত মেঘে মাংস আৰু ৰক্তৰ বৰষুণ বৰষালে। সকলো দিশতে সেয়া সকলো সেনাৰ ওপৰত পৰিল—ভয়ংকৰ আৰু অশুভ, যেন এক আশ্চৰ্য নিমিত্ত।
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse frames war as a morally catastrophic act whose consequences are foreshadowed by terrifying portents: nature itself appears to protest, warning that mass violence brings collective suffering and a collapse of auspicious order.
As the armies assemble, an extraordinary omen occurs: clouds rain flesh and blood in all directions upon the troops, signaling impending slaughter and the dreadful scale of the coming battle.
